Haunt (verb) 

آمدورفت رکھنا

"(of a ghost) manifest itself at (a place) regularly"
Examples: 
  • The mountains are a haunt of red deer. 
  • The cave is the haunt of seals and sea birds.
Synonyms: appear in, materialize in, visit, spook
Antonyms: abandon, cease, abjure

Sneer (noun) 

حقارت بھرا انداز، ناک چڑھانا

"a contemptuous or mocking smile, remark, or tone"

Examples: 
  •  He gave an arrogant sneer. 
  • There is too great a readiness to sneer at anything the Opposition does. 
Synonyms: curl of the/one’s lip, disparaging smile, contemptuous smile, smug smile, conceited smile
Antonyms:
 cheer, applause, clapping

Archaic (adjective) 

دقیانوسی، پرانا، بہت پرانا

"very old or old-fashioned"

Examples:
  • This archaic law remained on the statute books until last year.

Synonyms: obsolete, obsolescent, out of date, anachronistic, old-fashioned, outmoded, behind the times
Antonyms:
 new, modern

Agony (noun) 

کرب، تکلیف، اذیت، الجھن

"extreme physical or mental suffering"

Examples: 
  • The injured horse was in agony, so the farmer shot it. 
  •  Tom was in an agony.

Repugnant (adjective) 

سخت ناگوار، گھناﺅنا، ناگوار

"extremely distasteful; unacceptable"

Envisage (verb) 

غور کرنا، گمان کرنا، تصور کرنا

"contemplate or conceive of as a possibility or a desirable future event"

Example: 
  • I envisage a day when proper health care will be available to everyone. 
  • I'm trying to envisage you on a surfboard.
Synonyms: foresee, predict, forecast, foretell, anticipate, expect, think likely, envision

 actual, existent, existing, real

Marvel (verb) 

انوکھی چیز، عجوبہ، حیران ہونا

"be filled with wonder or astonishment"

Examples: 
  •  We paused to marvel at the view. 
  • It's a marvel that he escaped unhurt. 
Synonyms: be amazed, be filled with amazement, be astonished, be surprised, be awed, stand in awe

Tarnish (verb) 

داغدار کرنا، آلودہ کرنا، میلا کرنا

"lose or cause to lose lustre, especially as a result of exposure to air or moisture"

Examples:
  • The affair could tarnish the reputation of the prime minister. 
  •  Gold does not tarnish easily. 
Synonyms: become discoloured, discolour, stain, rust, oxidize, corrode, deteriorate, become dull
Antonyms: brighten, polish
